The next generation semi-submersible heavy lift ro-ro vessel is equipped with two Liebherr 350-ton-capacity witness heavy-lift witness cranes and a heavy-duty ro-ro ramp with capacity up to 4000 tons at various quay levels, RollDock said in a statement. witness RollDock Star can submerge for loading cargoes such as dredgers, submarines, naval craft. The vessel s dock hold is box-shaped and measures 119.44 meters by 19.40 meters, enabling large objects to be accommodated on board. Its propulsion consists of two MAK 9M32 engines with total installed power of 9000 kW giving a speed of about 17 knots.
The vessel s first trip will start in Amsterdam where it will load a floating pavilion destined for Gibraltar. After delivering of the floating pavilion, RollDock Star will load the river cruise vessel River Royale in Fos and will ship this vessel to Bordeaux. The third contract is for shipping a special, large sized floating object from the Baltic to the Far East.
